Day 185/365

My costume has arrived, next Friday 11th of July I will be running from St Benedict's RC Primary School to Baths Royal United Hospital. I will be joining in on the last ever Time is precious "Character Day". I think the route is about 13 miles, I chose to run from St. Benedict's as Ben Halford in his short life actually attended school here and to the RUH as this is one of the hospitals where Ben received his treatment. My own children also attend St. Benedict's and I have witnessed the good that Time is Precious aims to do in local hospitals by my own frequent visits to the RUH with my daughter who was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder AIHA at the age of 2. Thankyou to my work mates and colleagues for chipping in to transform me into Batman. If you would like to sponsor me for this event as part of my challenge however small please go to www.justgiving.com/365jimbarron
Damp and drizzling this evening for run 185, another off road run. The heavy rain had weighted down the brambles across the footpaths and trails which were quite hazardous especially at head height. With the extra cloud cover quite dark under the trees through woodland or copses which slowed pace down. Had a bit of a duel for fun with a herd of young cattle, I was in one corner of the field and they were in the other, we made a v to the gateway. I started to jog keeping the hedge close, they hadn't seen me I moved out into the field a steer raised his head. He eyeballed me so I quickened the pace, he turned and started to trot towards me. I sped up, the other cattle had seen me now and started to run with the first, they were running at me I was sprinting. The gate wasn't getting as close as quickly as they were. I was worried about falling and being trampled the floor was vibrating and sound of their hoofs closing in.  I was at full pelt, I launched myself over the gate, that was close, I carried on on my run as I heard them snuffling behind the hedge. Ended up running 6.5 miles through which took me through disused Cookswood Quarry.
