After breaking the Holcombe Hill running record yesterday anorher record was taunting me, 200 miles in one calender month. November being a short month with only 30days, I was left with 25 miles required on Friday in 3 days. Friday was a fairly low mileage after a meeting at work but yesterday's record breaking run had pulled this challenge within distance. Needing 11 miles to make 200 miles I decided to run from Radstock centre to the end of the cycle psth at Great Elm exactly 5.5 miles and back making the total distance required.
Legs niggling and tired I set off and tried to blank this out my mind, the cycle path being quite busy broke up the boredom of the long straight trek. The only problem being dogs that decide to run back to their owners across your path as soon as your any where nesr them. A slight mist when I set out which lifted as the sun broke through making for very pleasant running conditions almost ideal. A huge effort on the outward run and my mouth was getting dry as in my haste to come out I had forgotten a drink, I saw a dog drinking in a puddle which made me even more thirsty. A couple of other runners in the opposite, plenty of direction, plenty of cyclists, walkers and even some horses and I was at Great Elm. Now the Journey back, same again but slightly easier you wouldnt know it but there is a slight decline in the cycle path all the way back to Radstock. Plodding slightly now I listened for the miles to count down my legs were getting heavy. I listen for mile 10 on my tracker and decidedito increase the pace for my 200th mile of the month, it was hard but my legs were going faster, turned out to be my quickest mile of the run. I managed it 11 miles after 9 the night before another misdion accomplished and another milestone 11 calender months of 2014kx365 challenge.
