A cold and wintry morning, by accident I had left my trainers outside on the hedge all night it was possible that they may have been filled with treats on St Nicholas' Day but no Jack Frost had been at them and they were frozen solid. I pushed my warm feet into them and quickly tightened the stiff laces running on trying not to think about how cold my feet had just become. The frost had hardend up the ground just enough to make running easy without sinking into the mud or twisting your ankle on frozen solid ruts in the ground. Ran out across Edford Meadows and headed towards the bottom of Old Coleford, the sun was rising and bursting through the trees warming the fields it could cast its rays on, shaded areas were wintry white and cold. Came back across Kilmersdon Common skirting the top of Holcombe and ran out towards Pitcot. Along Pitcot Lane catching up with a fellow runner and commenting on what a beautiful morning it was failed to tell her this was my 340th consecutive day of my challenge and ran on hopping over a gate back into the fields along a farm track to Harridge Woods. Out the other side of the woods I ran through a field of sheep and the grass was still white apart from some spread out circular patches where the sheep had been sat through the night. Around the edge of Edford Woods up the pack horse trail and home 6.69 miles 1876/2014 running miles, just about still on target.
