A very cold evening, Somer Ac winter time trials which is a timed 5k, 3 and a half times around Westfield trading estate. About 30 athletes of all abilities lined up for a mass start all wearing hi viz running gear. The field spread out rapidly as the start is fairly quick, to quick for me but I tag along legs still creaking from the weekends exertions. Glad I have my gloves on as it was quite nippy but soon warmed up as we ran around the estate, after the first lap those in front of me gradually pulled away but as I went round the third time I lapped a few of the slower runners. Official finish time 23:13 minutes, I faded on the last lap a little but almost got my sub 7 minute mile as the first mile was 7.13. Totsl running miles 4.33 with warm up and cool down which is a nice gentle run to the trading estate from Norton Hill School which is where Somer Ac meet every Tuesday and Thursday. GPS app updsted itself again and seemed ok this evening do looks like were back on track.
