Day 343/365

Got up and out the door 10 minutes earlier this morning, the windscreens were frozen on the cars and you could see glimmering patches on the road so I gingerly ran up the road and hopped into the fields, off road shoes are not great on tarmac at the best times and I didn't want to slip up. Getting up early I was rewarded with the most stunning of sun rises, the sky was reds  oranges and purples beautiful. As the sun forced its way on up into the sky the colours faded and it became another grey morning you could now see the frost on the grass and many of the muddy puddles were frozen, cracking as I ran through them and the muddy cold water splashed up onto my legs. Ran across Kilmersdon Common to the bottom of Old Coleford back out to Ham and across to Edford Woods, I had misjudged my time and Endomondo told me I'd been out for 43 minutes. I now had to race about a mile and a half back home for the school run, I picked up the pace and was going well. Up the pack horse trail one more field before I was back out into the housing estate and round the road to home, just 10 metres from the stile I tripped over what I don't know but I slid on my side through the muddy feeling my knee bang something hard. I jumped up and ran on my gloves were mud, my arm was mud, my legs were mud and my knee was oozing blood. I think my knee landed in a frozen puddle made by a horses hoof and now it's a bit sore. 5.86 miles off road beautiful sunrise and sore knee.
