This blog is for those who would like to follow my challenge of running everyday.

Day 193/365 " Beat the Heart" 5k fun run
Took part in"Beat the Heart" 5km fun run at The Best Western PLUS Centurion Hotel in aid of the British a Heart Foundation this morning. My calf muscles were feeling slightly tight after yesterday but in the sunshine I managed a nice steady pace of four laps around the golf course. It was great to see about 80 people young and old getting out there walking, jogging and running getting the pulses racing to help other hearts keep beating.
Absolutely brilliant to meet a local running legend John Reynolds who has himself took on some impressive challenges earning himself a world record along the way. A true gentleman to talk to and well impressed with my efforts yesterday.
An old work colleague Michael Baker was very proud of himself at 60+ running his first ever 5k without walking, goes to show your never to old, he did however take full advantage of the fantastic tea and cakes on offer free to all who took part.
Thankyou to everyone who has donated to my charities over the last few days peoples generosity has been overwhelming, thankyou very much. After spending 3 years worrying about my own little girl and frequent visits to hospital I took on this challenge because she is in remission from a rare blood disorder but I can hug her and kiss her, I chose these charities because some families are not so lucky please keep those pennies coming it all makes a huge difference.
